One of my biggest dreams in life was to become a published author, and in 2018, that dream finally came true my book, The Good Knight Kiss, was published under my exciting pen name, D.K. O'Doherty!

I've always been captivated by history, and my journey has been profoundly shaped by my time in a Catholic grammar school, high school, and a Jesuit university. My imagination truly soared when I discovered my great-grandfather’s incredible memoirs from before the Irish Potato Famine, giving me a vivid glimpse into an Ireland during that fascinating period.

In 1983, at just nineteen years old, I took the plunge and enlisted in the US Army as an artilleryman. My first adventure took me to West Germany, where I spent seven amazing years witnessing the fall of the Berlin Wall and the remarkable shift in Europe as communist influence waned. Inspired by the rich storytelling tradition of the Irish, I’ve embraced this passion in my teaching career and through my enthusiastic volunteer work in Little League baseball, soccer, and scouting!
